2023: Buhari’s Ex-Aide Bashir Ahmad Reacts After Tinubu Was Declared Winner Of Presidential Election
The All Progressive Congress candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been declared the winner of the 2023 Presidential Election after defeating closest rivals Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party on Wednesday morning.
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced Tinubu’s victory on Wednesday morning at the National Collation Centre in Abuja, a hall packed full of journalists, party agents and observers.
Tinubu claimed 8,794,726 votes from all the 36 states including the FCT. The former Lagos Governor had almost two million votes more than closest rival Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party. The Labour Party candidate Peter Obi finished the race with 6,101,533 votes.
After the former Governor of Lagos was declared the winner, Buhari’s former aide Bashir Ahmad reacted on his official page on Twitter.
“Alhamdulillah! Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the 2023 presidential election. Bola Tinubu is now Nigeria’s President-elect. Congratulations Nigerians!” he said.
