Peter Obi reacts as FGN postponed 2023 Census for incoming administration to decide

The former Anambra State Governor and Presidential candidate of Labour Party LP in the February 25 Presidential election in Nigeria, Mr Peter Obi has reacted to the decision of the federal government of Nigeria to postpone the Population and Housing Census earlier scheduled for 3-7 May 2023 to a date to be determined by the incoming administration.

Mr Obi took to his official Twitter handle to make this known, stating that, the decision of the federal government is a welcome development.

“FGN’s decision to postpone the 2023 Population and Housing Census, scheduled for 3-7 May 2023, to a date to be determined by the incoming Administration is a propitious welcome development.” Said Obi.

Obi added that, national census is a critical development and nation-building tool.
