Accept Defeat, You Lost Woefully, FG Tells Atiku, Obi

Opposition parties have been advised by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, to accept defeat and stop their gripping over the 2023 presidential election, saying they lost the poll woefully. This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by his Special Assistant (Media), Segun Adeyemi.
He said, “Mr President’s analysis on the reasons for the opposition’s loss in the 2023 elections was incontrovertible,” adding that both Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar lost the election due to overconfidence and complacency.
Shettima Reveals Issues To Get Priority Under Tinubu

Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima has disclosed that gender-based issues will get priority under the administration of President-elect Bola Tinubu. Shettima spoke at the reading of “Stepping on Toes, My Odyssey at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)” by ex-Managing Director Hadiza Usman. At the event held on Saturday in Abuja, the Borno Central described Hadiza as an iron lady for “showing courage to write such a book”.
He said, “Rest assured that the incoming administration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will be gender-friendly”.

Prof. Razaq Abubakre, ex-Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin, believes former Osun Governor Gboyega Oyetola will reclaim his mandate. The prominent indigene of the state declared that those threatening unrest if the All Progressives Congress, APC, wins at the Supreme Court are only boasting.
“The promise of fire and brimstone by the PDP should APC win at the Supreme Court is an empty threat”, he told the Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
NASS Leadership: Northern Group Endorses Yari As Senate President

A northern political pressure group, the North-West Progressives Forum has endorsed a former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, as the Senate President of the 10th Senate. This was as the group cautioned the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, not allowed politicians from other geopolitical zones of the country to ambush him over the Senate presidency seat.
Convener of the group, Nasir Dambatta, at a press conference in Kaduna on Saturday, said the North-West zone that gave the All Progressives Congress the highest votes in the last presidential election, deserved the Senate President’s slot.
