According to reports coming from VANGUARD, a former Minister of Power, Sale Mamman has been apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The report has it that eligible sources revealed that the former minister is being imprisoned at the headquarters of the Commission following his arrest in the early hours of today Wednesday.
In the report, the arrest is about the Commission’s endless investigation into alleged corruption in the execution of some power projects.
The report claims that Mamman is claimed to have plotted with a staff of the Ministry in charge of the accounts of the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power projects and taken away money that they shared amongst themselves.
The report adds that some properties claimed to have been amassed with the income have been discovered in Nigeria and overseas linked to the suspects, while millions of Naira and United States Dollars have been reclaimed.
The report from VANGUARD further adds that the Spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, could not be reached for announcements on the latest development.
