A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has dismissed a preliminary objection by the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure. It should be recalled that on 19th April, Lamidi Apapa, the acting national chairman of the Labour Party said that his suspension as a member of the party was invalid.
He claimed that he remains the legitimate acting chairman of the party. According to a report gathered from Sahara Reporters, it will interest you to note that Apapa has now taken over as the authentic chairman of the Labour Party. It was gathered that he asked all the lawyers representing the party at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to reach out to him within 48 hours.

Mr. Apapa’s summon comes after Justice Hamza Muazu of an Abuja High Court, on Friday, held that the court has jurisdiction to hear a suit seeking the removal of the party’s chairman, Julius Abure, and four other national officers. Reacting to the court’s ruling in an interview with journalists, Mr. Apapa said that justice had taken its natural course, saying that the judge acted in line with true justice.
