A former member of the Senate from Kaduna State, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the zoning template announced by the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) for the presiding officers of the 10th national assembly.
Recall that the National Working Committee of ruling party recently announced the zoning of the Senate President of the 10th national assembly to the South-South and the deputy Senate President to the Northwest. They also zoned the Speaker of the House of Representatives to the Northwest and deputy Speaker to the Southeast.
The North Central region was not included in the power equation which already had the President-elect and the Vice President-elect from the Southwest and Northeast respectively.
Reacting to the zoning formula of the 10th NASS on his Twitter account, Senator Shehu Sani faulted the zoning template adopted by the ruling party.
He said, “Zoning the National Assembly offices and deliberately ostracising a section of the country because of their political decisions,opinion or history cannot deliver to us a united country that we have always been dreaming to attain.”
