Nigerian human rights advocate and pro-democracy campaigner Omoyele Sowore is best known for launching the internet news organization Sahara Reporters. He established the African Action Congress party in August 2018 and competed for president in the 2019 Nigerian general election on its behalf. In the Nigerian general election of 2023, Sowore is also a candidate for president.
Omoyele Sowore said, “There is nothing wrong with admitting that you want Seun Kuti put to death because he didn’t back Peter Obi for president in the 2023 election. Even the police agreed to look into the circumstances surrounding the confrontation that occurred between them and Seun Kuti on the Third Mainland bridge earlier today.
“Although Seun Kuti agreed to help the authorities because he opposed Peter Obi, you want him put to death. Your heroes now are the police who participated in Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election rigging and who unlawfully executed young Nigerians during the End Sars. This is because Seun Kuti is not backing Peter Obi.”
