The president-elect, Asiwju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the flagbearer of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the February 25 presidential election, have locked ties.

According to a report by The Cable, the duo held a crucial four hours meeting in Paris, France, on Monday, May 15.

What Tinubu, Kwankwaso discussed?

At the centre of the discussion, understands, was the potential involvement of Kwankwaso in the incoming administration as Tinubu plans to form a “government of national unity” — which means giving certain positions to opposition parties.

The meeting also discussed issues around the election of the legislative leaders ahead of the June 13 inauguration of the 10th national assembly.

A former presidential aspirant and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has revealed why the May 29 handover cannot be shelved.

Garba noted that over 120 heads of state have expressed interest in attending the inauguration of Nigeria’s president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday, May 29, 2023. Hence the ceremony cannot be stopped.

In an interview on Arise Television on Monday, May 15, the APC chieftain described those filing suits to stop Tinubu’s inauguration as “jokers”.

Alhaji Ahmadu Haruna Zago, an influential stalwart in the Kano state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has revealed the only reason why the inauguration of the governor-elect Abba Kabir Yusuf AKA Abba Gida-Gida can be stopped.

As reported by Daily Trust, he urged members of the party and its supporters to desist from spreading fake news that the governor-elect will not be inaugurated on Monday, May 29.
