El-Rufai Deserves Juicy Post In Tinubu’s Govt–MURIC

An Islamic rights advocacy group, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called on Nigeria’s ‘President-elect’ Bola Tinubu to ensure that Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State is given a ‘juicy’ position in his administration.

The group which stated this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, maintained that El-Rufai deserves a juicy post in the incoming administration because of the role he played in ensuring the victory of the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Fayemi Declines EFCC Invitation

The former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has declined an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, over an investigation involving money laundering.

DAILY POST sighted an invitation letter dated 12th May 2023, sent to Fayemi by the EFCC.

According to the letter, the Commission said it needed clarifications from Fayemi as part of the investigation.

The statement further disclosed that Fayemi’s scheduled interview with the EFCC would be held on 18th May 2023.

However, Fayemi who had acknowledged the receipt of the commission’s letter his legal representatives claimed he would not be available for the interview on that particular day.

The former Minister of Solid Minerals stated that he would be engaged in the presentation and launching of two new books in honour of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Claims Of Corruption, Nepotism In Military, Veiled Attempt To Plunge Nigeria Into Chaos — Army

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday waved aside allegations of corruption and nepotism among others levied against the force and other unknown persons within the military saying the claims were aimed at inciting troops, heating up the polity and destabilizing the country.

It said the false alarm about religious and ethnic bigotry, within the Army, nepotism and corruption were spurious and baseless.

Director of Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu made this known in a statement titled, ‘Claims of Corruption, Nepotism, Calculated to Destsbilize the Country’.

It reads, “The Nigerian Army has noted with dismay, a mischievous and systematic smear campaign aimed at inciting troops, heating up the polity and destabilizing the country through the spurious, baseless and false alarm on corruption, nepotism, ethnic and religious bigotry within the Nigerian Army (NA).

We’ve Developed Diagnosis, Drugs For Sickle Cell, Others – Science Minister

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora, says the ministry through, its agencies, has developed diagnostic process, treatment and drugs for common diseases like sickle cell and hypertension.

Mamora disclosed this on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, while featuring in the State House briefing organised by the Presidential Communications Team.

The minister said that his ministry had also made significant achievements in food processing and fabrication of equipment to boost food production.

“In the area of medicare and health of Nigerians, of course a lot of these came to the from burner during the COVID era; so many things were developed from our indigenous companies under our various agencies like the disinfectant towel, sanitisers, solar-powered smart hand washing machine.
