The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has led a protest to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) because of the outcome of the February 25th presidential election.

Atiku was with other leaders and supporters of the party. Many of the party members were dressed in black colour and carried placards bearing different inscriptions.

On some of the placards were inscriptions like – “This is election, not selection,” “We say no to injustice and fraud,” etc.

The All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Ahmed Asiwaju Tinubu, was declared winner of the presidential election by INEC at the International Collation Centre, Abuja, on Wednesday last week. The declaration was not well received by the opposition parties. It should be noted that Atiku Abubakar came second in the race, and was followed by the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, who came third.

The PDP had accused the electoral body of rigging the election, and had said vowed to approach the court for redress.

The protest from the PDP has been attracting mixed reactions from members of the public, and many are keeping their fingers crossed to see where the protest will lead, or if it would make any difference in the announcement of Tinubu as the President-elect.

What do you have to say about this protest from the PDP? Feel free to share your thoughts with us.
