Bayo Onanuga reacts, as he was told that it was not only Igbos that gave Obi victory in Lagos

According to a news that was published by the Punch paper online this morning, it was reported that the Director of Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress’ Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Bayo Onanuga, during an interview with Punch correspondent, has reacted, as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, defeated his principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos State.

When he was talking during the interview, Onanuga claimed that Peter Obi won because his brothers from the South-East geopolitical zone, decided to align with his presidency.

However, when Bayo was told that there is evidence that Obi magic in Lagos was not done by the Igbo tribe alone, he (Bayo) said, “This one, essentially, was done by our brothers from the South East. But of course, I must also admit that there are some Yorubas who also believed that Obi is their candidate.”

Further talking, he said this is democracy and the people are free to make their choice and another thing is that, this is a pan-Nigerian election, where people in various states and councils will always make their own different choices and so, Peter Obi defeating Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos is as a result of dispensation of democracy in Nigeria.
