CHE VS DOR: Chelsea’s Strongest Possible Lineup That Could Aid Their Progress In The UCL
Chelsea will be back in action in the UEFA Champions League tomorrow but this time around they will be hosting Bundesliga Giants Borussia Dortmund at the Stamford Bridge Stadium. Last time out, the Blues were condemned to a disappointing 1-0 defeat by Borussia Dortmund courtesy of that brilliant goal from Karim Adeyemi. The Blues will definitely will hoping to make a turnaround at their home ground in order to aid their progress onto the next stage of the competition this season.
Well, in this article, I share Chelsea’s Strongest possible lineup that could help them defeat Borussia Dortmund and advance to the quarterfinal stage of the competition. Let’s take a look.
Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Spanish International will maintain this position in Chelsea’s starting lineup since Edouard Mendy is still out of action due to injury.
Centre-Backs: Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Wesley Fofana has shown his immense quality for Chelsea since he returned from injury. The French International who is presently in his best form needs to be used alongside Kalidou Koulibaly in the heart of the team’s defense line.
Full-backs: Reece James and Ben Chilwell.
Reece James missed Chelsea’s last game against Leeds United due to injury but will be expected to be in action for the Blues tomorrow against Borussia Dortmund. Ben Chilwell will continue as Chelsea’s reliable left-back.
Midfielders: Enzo Fernandez and Mateo Kovacic.
This will definitely be a perfect midfield pair for Chelsea since both players are very good both on and off the ball.
Forwards: Joao Felix, Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke, and Raheem Sterling.
Joao Felix tends to play behind Kai Havertz as a second striker while Raheem Sterling returns to the left-wing to create space for Noni Madueke in the right-wing position.
I believe this lineup is good enough to see Chelsea defeat Borussia Dortmund convincingly at home to advance to the UCL quarterfinals this season.
