According to a video interview conducted by Arise Television yesterday afternoon, Mr. Ayodele Fayose Peter, the former governor of Ekiti State under the PDP banner, has responded to the results of the presidential election that was held last Saturday, in which Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared the victor.

In the course of the interview, he said that just as people believed he was joking in 2019 when he was shot with a gun by a security guard who was sent to arrest him, they believed he was joking when the Peoples Democratic Party was marginalizing and deceiving some people until they realized it was true.

He said “Let me tell you something: Before I endured multiple surgeries to correct my spinal chord, Nigerians who shot me in 2019 originally thought I was joking. At that moment, they realized it was a dire situation. The PDP can now see that the most recent election was not a mockery as we had earlier claimed. They gave no attention as we shouted intermittently. They thought we were making light of them, but we weren’t.”
