INEC did not transfer results electronically because some parties brought hackers from Russia- Enefe
According to a news that was published by the Vanguard paper online this evening, it was reported that a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Ekene Enefe, has revealed the reason why the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, could not transfer the presidential results electronically from polling units to the INEC portal.
While he was talking, he justified why the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC did not transmit elections results electronically in the Saturday February 25th Presidential and National Assembly elections, as he said it was for the benefit of democracy.
The APC Chieftain claimed that, some political parties in the country, brought in hackers from Russia and Israel to manipulate the outcome of the 2023 general elections.
He said, “INEC did not transfer results electronically because some parties brought hackers from Russia, Israel to manipulate the outcome of the elections because, each party has a situation room and they have known the results before it even got to INEC. They knew they were losing and they wanted to cling on something; and what they want to cling on is the transmission of the results to the portal.”
Further talking, he said that people do not know the number of times INEC server was hacked and attacked by hackers on that day, and this was done by political parties that brought in the Russian and Israeli hackers, to hack into INEC server and to transmit the end result and create chaos in the country, but, none of them succeeded in the plan.
