#LagosGuber: “I Am Gbadebo’s Mother, People are Buying Votes Openly” – Mrs Rhodes-Vivour
In a video going viral, the mother of Lagos State Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour’s has accused members of the All Progressives Congress of vote-buying. The woman, who simply identified herself as Mrs Rhodes-Vivour, expressed her dismay at the electoral process in the state.
The woman alleged that vote-buying was being done openly under the watch of security. She accused members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of capturing voters who voted for them to give them money.
She was asked by an interview about her opinion on the electoral process to which she responded in her words: “I am Mrs Rhodes-Vivour. The mother of the incoming governor (Gbadebo). My experience is nothing to write home about. People are buying votes openly. How can you vote and show whom you are voting for, and the APC person is capturing you to go and give you money. Is that the society we are trying to change?!”
Mrs Rhodes-Vivour further blamed security operatives of not interfering to stop the alleged vote-buying. She said: “They (security agencies) are not saying anything. I am Mrs Rhodes-Vivour, the mother of Gbadebo.”
