LIV vs MUN: Man United’s Strongest Possible Lineup That Could Beat Liverpool On Sunday
Two of the biggest clubs in England will renew hostilities on Sunday evening when Liverpool welcome Man United to Anfield by 17:30 BST as both clubs seek to continue their pursuit for their respective title and top four ambitions.
Although Liverpool have been underwhelming so far this season, they’ve had some decent results lately picking up wins over Newcastle, Everton and Wolves whilst keeping clean sheets in all of those games. That does not bode well for Man United who despite being in impressive form, have not looked solid on the road. Man United’s last win at Anfield was back in 2016 in which a goal from Rooney settled the contest.
This shows that Man United have found Liverpool to be a very difficult opponent especially at Anfield and Erik ten hag must get his selections spot on if Man United are to claim maximum points on Sunday evening. Here is Man United’s strongest possible lineup Erik ten hag should deploy in order for Man United to end their winless run at Anfield.
Goalkeeper: David Degea
There is absolutely no doubt that David Degea should be starting this game for Man United given how much he has kept Man United in games they should be losing.
Defense: Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia
This is Man United’s best back line for this game, though it could be argued that Luke Shaw is preferable at left back. However, Tyrell Malacia did well the last time he was tasked to keep Salah at bay in Man United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool. He certainly has better defensive qualities than Luke Shaw.
Defensive Midfield: Casemiro, Fred
Fred has been largely regarded as an erratic player. However, he seems to perform brilliantly on a consistent basis when being partnered with Casemiro. This should be Man United’s shape in midfield.
Forwards: Antony, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford
There is absolutely no doubt that these players should lineup this way offensively. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford has been in good form while Antony continues to thrive in the right wing.
Striker: Wout Weghorst
Although the Netherland international don’t have the goals to boast of as a striker, he remains a key player in Man United’s pattern of play, distributing the ball in deep areas before moving forward.
