Peter Obi reveals his next step after INEC refused to allow inspection of electoral materials
The Presidential election has come and gone. Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been declared the winner of the February 25 election. However, Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi has gone to court to contest the election.
Labour Party requested to inspect all the election materials including the BVAS has however been denied by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Peter Obi has now revealed his next step on his official Twitter page.
The LP candidate has decided to cancel all his campaign trips and follow his lawyers to court on Wednesday. Obi was supposed to travel to states like Lagos, Nasarawa, Enugu, Rivers, and others to help lead the campaign for Labour Party candidates in the coming election. The trip has now been canceled
“However, following INEC’s refusal to allow our party to inspect the materials (including BVAS) from the 25th February presidential elections, I am personally heading to the Court today with our lawyers.”
He also urged his supporters to go about their business peacefully and not turn the court premises into a rally ground.
