Reactions As Video Of Atiku Tackling Obi For Taking PDP’s Votes In S’East & S’South Surfaces
Amid the ongoing public backlash to the outcome of the just-concluded presidential election held by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the country, a backlash has begun following a video showing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) second standard-bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for tackling the Labour Party’s (LP) Peter Obi for taking the former ruling party’s bloc votes in the South East and South-South regions.
Hours ago, in a video shared on the confirmed Facebook page of the PDP governor Lere Olayinka, Atiku addressed a room of journalists and attacked Obi, saying the Labour candidate got more votes in East and South South, was never enough to make him president. The former Vice President said Obi will not fulfill his ambitions without talking to the PDP.
“Yes, he (Obi) indeed got our votes in the South-East and South-South, but that does not make him the president. You all know that to be president in this country you have to vote everywhere. Peter is free to come and talk with PDP.”
Predictably, the video sparked a flurry of mixed reactions from Nigerians online, with many using the comments section to express their thoughts.
However, while some sympathized with the former Vice President’s words, others criticized that he claimed ownership of votes which belonged to the Southeast and South-South.
