Election: APC has no gov candidate in Taraba – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress, has no valid nominated candidate for the rescheduled Saturday, March 18, 2023 governorship election in Taraba State in tandem with the judgement of the Supreme Court delivered on February 1, 2023, in suit No SC/CV/1564/2022.
The PDP also drew the attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission, the people of Taraba State and the general public to note that the import of the judgement of the Supreme Court is to the effect that the APC cannot validly field a candidate in the March 18, 2023 governorship election in Taraba State, owing to the failure to comply with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022 with regards to the conduct of its governorship primary in the state.

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, has said that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must upload the results of the March 18 elections into its server through the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines
Adebutu asked Ogun voters to monitor the voting exercise and ensure that officials of INEC comply with the guideline, which mandated them to transmit results electronically from the polling units, wards and local government collation centres.
The candidate charged Ogun people to go out en masse on Saturday and vote for the PDP, while also securing their votes.

The Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have withdrawn a fresh application they filed to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission to allow their agents to participate in the process of sorting out ballot papers that were used for the February 25 presidential election.
Both the PDP and Atiku, who are separately challenging the outcome of the election that was declared in favour of the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, told the Presidential Election Petition Court, sitting at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, that they wanted to discontinue the application.
When the motion ex parte, marked, CA/PEC/10M/2023, was called for hearing on Wednesday, Atiku, through his team of lawyers led by Joe Kyari Gadzama (SAN), told the court that he filed a notice of discontinuance.
Kwara: Saraki’s loyalist, Wahab Issa dumps PDP, joins APC

chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, and loyalist of Senator Bukola Saraki, in Kwara State, Wahab Issa has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.
The development is seen by political observers as a dramatic step that further depletes the main opposition PDP ahead of the crucial elections in next Saturday’s crucial gubernatorial and house of assembly elections.
Wahab Issa, one of the strongest allies of the Saraki dynasty, who was the PDP candidate for the Ilorin East/South House of Representatives election on February 25, 2023, lost to the APC’s candidate, Yinka Aluko.
