UGA 0-1 NIG: Nigeria’s Abel Ogwuche Wins Man Of The Match Award In Flying Eagles Hard-fought Q/F Win
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria prolific and versatile defender, Abel Ogwuche was the hero of the night yesterday for the Ladan Bosso led Nigeria U-20 men’s national team in the quarter finals ties of the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
Abel Ogwuche in the game gave an all-round performance as he delivered at the peak using his vast experience coupled with his physical, tactical and technical skills at the heart of the defence line which as such earned him the Man of the Match award.
The game between the two sides was at first a keenly contested encounter before Nigeria outsmarted the Uganda’s side by taking the lead in the 30th minute, courtesy of an own-goal scored by Ibrahim Juma to make it one nil going into the half time break.
The second half of the game got more tensed up as they both put up some more incredible style of play but none was able to found the back of the net with all attempts to add more to the tally proving abortive as it ended one nil at full time.
After the game, Abel Ogwuche of the Flying Eagles was announced as the winner for the Man of the Match award following his outstanding performance in the hard-fought victory which was a well deserved one.
He will then be hoping to keep the standard going for his team in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the competition having progressed to the semi-finals stage.
