VIDEO: Youths Return To Polling Unit After Thugs’ Attack In Ojo, Lagos

According to The PUNCH, some thugs allegedly attacked an area in Lagos State today while the electoral process was ongoing, and as such, this affected those voting in the area.

As thugs allegedly threatened and chased away youths in the Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State, the youths mobilized and went back to their polling places to carry out their civic duty.

In the 24 seconds video, most of them were seen with leaves (from trees), and they were all shouting “We must vote.” This shows their passion and enthusiasm to vote for their respective candidates.

Thus, while reacting to different incidents recorded in the State today, some of the incidents of violence during the governorship and state house of assembly elections in the state, according to Idowu Owohunwa, commissioner of police for Lagos State, were expected.

“It is true that we’ve recorded incidences of violence in several regions within the state,” Owohunwa said in an interview with Channels Television, confirming reports of assaults on voters and election officials at some polling places in Lagos.
